Who we are

AVERMONTE is a purpose-led transformation advisory based in Canada. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to AVERMONTE. You can contact us at studio@avermonte.com.

This policy is written to comply with Canada's federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and Quebec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector). Where we engage with individuals in the European Union or United Kingdom, we additionally respect the principles of the UK and EU GDPR. Where applicable, we acknowledge the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

What data we collect and why

We collect personal data only when you choose to provide it. Under PIPEDA, we collect only the information necessary for the identified purpose. The primary way we collect data is through our contact form, which asks for:

  • Your name
  • Your organisation (optional)
  • Your email address
  • The nature of your enquiry
  • A message describing what you are working on

We collect this data solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing, profiling, or any automated decision-making. We will not send you commercial electronic messages (as defined under CASL) without your express or implied consent.

Consent

By submitting our contact form, you are providing informed consent for us to collect and use your personal information to respond to your enquiry. This is consistent with PIPEDA's principle of meaningful consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at studio@avermonte.com, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

Under Quebec's Law 25, we confirm that we do not use your personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected without obtaining new consent.

How we store and protect your data

Enquiry data submitted via our contact form is stored securely and accessible only to the founding team. We employ reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, consistent with PIPEDA's security safeguard principle.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties, except to service providers who assist us in operating the site (such as our hosting and form processing providers). Any such providers are required to protect your information with standards equivalent to our own.

We retain enquiry data for no longer than 24 months from the date of collection, after which it is securely deleted unless an ongoing client relationship exists or retention is required by law.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use a single entry in your browser's local storage to remember your display preference (light or dark mode). This is a functional setting only — it contains no personally identifiable information and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service at this time.

Third-party services

Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash. These services may log your IP address as part of their standard operation and may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for further information. Where our service providers are located outside Canada, we take steps to ensure your information receives comparable protection.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and how it is used
  • Access your personal information and request corrections
  • Withdraw your consent for us to use your information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you are in Quebec

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to data portability and to object to processing, and may complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under CCPA including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at studio@avermonte.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Privacy Officer

PIPEDA requires organisations to designate an individual responsible for privacy compliance. AVERMONTE's Privacy Officer can be reached at studio@avermonte.com.
